That’s a great initiative, and presumably will only expand further as our renewable capacity increases.
It’s like some kind of cloud-based virtual district heating scheme. Some countries have apps that constantly report the price of electricity on a renewables grid and can tell you what the best time to stick on a wash is (eg 3am usually) so if this was lobbing notifications and just got more integrated and ‘smart’ it could get everyone a benefit. Much like everything else though, from toll roads on up, the government will find a way to cost-a-fortune it.
