Cost of watching Premier League and Champions League rises by £60 a year with latest BT Sport monthly pass price hike

  1. At this rate most people are effectively priced out of the sport. Imagine paying through the nose for all these packages and still not being able to watch all your teams games? What a joke

  2. I got that email from BT today telling me it’s going up to £30 per month. They can get fucked. Not worth it to see one Premier League fixture per week.

Guess I’ll be watching the European matches *the other way*.

  3. I miss lots of things about the UK but one huge advantage of living in a country where no one cares about Football is that I get to pay £10 a month to stream all PL games.

Sadly (as of this season) CL and EL matches are with a different service so I need to pay a whole £10 more for that service. In previous seasons one service had the rights to all three competitions.

  4. They will be hiking the prices up to make up for lost revenue in the World Cup. I cancelled my subscriptions immediately before the World Cup, I imagine the majority did. With 2 weeks of games being exclusively on Amazon Prime, it was 7 weeks without football games on those subscriptions and no need to pay.

During the World Cup they both offered me a 20%-40% discounted subscription, if I committed to 7 months. They increased the discount on the offer every week. I am not keen on re-subscribing atm, with the cost of living rising. But they will be price gauging the people who have re-subscribed to make up for their lost revenue. Really scummy thing to do.

  5. Im going to cancel, they can shove it up their ass

Its only one fixture per week on BT, its like paying a boxing ppv price for each game you watch

  6. And subscription cancelled. They are free to take the piss, I’m free to not pay for their service.

  7. Not only do you pay through the nose for these services but **you still have to watch a load of adverts**!

If you’re paying for it you have more money than sense.

  8. Honestly a night out costs me more than a months entertainment at home. A away day to watch my side about 3 months of tv.

Its expensive compared to free but other entertainment is way more expensive imo

  9. My local social club membership is £10 a year. The bar shows every game you’d ever want to watch. I also get free secure parking behind the high st I can use 24/7. A pint of quality beer and a large glass of Pinot costs £7.20. They also sell nice food. I’m not using my utilities and the two TV’s are huge. I’m not paying BT, Sky or Amazon. Screw that.

  10. I don’t have sympathy because if you’re not pirating at this point your just an idiot. It’s not hard. Haven’t paid a penny in years.

  11. I stopped being a BT broadband customer in August 2021 but for some reason am still getting access to BT Sport at no charge.
