Fair play, it’s important the fellow travelers of bigotry hiding among working class protests are not allowed to dictate the narrative.
A rally is not a democratic event. Only a legal vote on the issue is.
“Think of the food!”
The immigration industrial complex in Ireland is now a cornered dog. They have seen that their usual tactics don’t work and now, like a cornered dog, they are going to get vicious. The NGO’s and political party apparatchiks will all be out in force for this sing-a-long but most people have the good sense to see it for what it is – a totally contrived, astroturfed initiative to gaslight those whom have proper grievances with the immigration system into submitting to their narrative.
Do not give them what they want. Do not overreact to their slander and underhanded tactics. Stay vigilant, stay safe and do not fall for any of their troublemaking.
Welcome where exactly? Is drimnagh full of vacant properties?
It’s just a meaningless slogan unless you have properties for them.

Welcome where ? You personally going to house them
I’m proud that we are helping so many people, and only hope that we figure out how to fix the housing market so that nobody is without a home.

I certainly wouldn’t want to be welcome in Drimnagh but I digress
I think they probably could have brought more signs. Photo on its own kind of looks like people going for a walk. Good on them though for supporting marginalised and vulnerable people.
Yeah, that photos doctored. Can’t be real
How do I know? Well, where’s the shopping trolleys or traffic cones in the canal!
Where is this? Looks bleak. Nice of the people to rally anyway.
So do they support refugees or not?
How many of these peoples are real locals, vs activists that are manipulated to come and stir up hatred?
Welcome where is exactly right. Presumably all these astroturfed clowns will be taking in an asylum seeker or two, because it is either that or tents at this point. Practicalities win over trying to hold the moral high ground.
Not a great picture, all things said.
Genuine refugees are welcome, economic migrants posing as refugees are not.
Personally very pro immigrants. Very against them being put up in temp accommodation or hotels and handed weekly money. We have such an amazing history or bringing culture, hard work, perseverance and determination around the world without any handouts and a little bit of that attitude back would mean a lot. I don’t blame anyone coming here for handouts, Irish wouldn’t have done the same if allowed anywhere. The fault is with the system.
