The hedgehog product is “a bait. If you want to use it it works with a trap. The bait doesn’t kill the hedgehog itself it’s the trap that will kill the hedgehog”.

I’m just baffled why anyone wants to kill hedgehogs?? I’m a keen gardener and like every other gardener I know hedgehogs are very welcome in my garden. They literally empty the garden of slugs and snails!

They are schedule 6 but that only limits the ways in which they can be hunted and killed.

Why would you even want to kill a hedgehog? Growing up, one of the houses we lived in had a massive garden and we had a house hedgehog. He was the cutest, most loving thing and I remember we would always bring him indoors at night to keep him away from the feral cats. My cat at the time bonded with him and would lay down next to him in the floor to cuddle. They are so sweet, they mind their business and help to keep the insect population at bay.
Great way to identify cunts though, as they will be the only people buying it. I stand by my opinion that too many people want nature confined to TV or far away from their gardens, which is why so many people have pristine gardens covered in weedkiller and insecticides, while also ignoring all advice on how to make their gardens more friendly to wildlife. We risk losing so many species because the cult of the perfect garden is ingrained in British society and people refuse to change.
Who on earth would even consider that hedgehogs should be killed? I just don’t understand it, especially not when everyone else is trying to save them

I live on a main road, hedgehogs around here just get flattened in the night by cars. Then in the mornings I have to move them with a shovel as all the neighbours would rather just have a dead carcass in the road.
I don’t mean to be overly contrarian, but why is it okay to kill some animals and not others?
Theres plenty of meat that we can eat but choose not to, so it’s not about the need for sustenance.
Either all of it is okay or none of it is in my view.
I absolutely love the fact that a pair of hedgehogs visit my garden.
We put dog food out and water for them and sometimes sit and wait for them to come out and see them tucking in to the food 🦔
I’ve learned that the ones that visit me seem to enjoy beef and gravy flavour dog food 😃👍🏾
Why anyone would want to hurt or kill hedgehogs baffles me. I think they may be under threat as a species. They seem to be natures punch bag and have enough problems on their plate without people trying to poison them 😭
