Hello 🙂
A few months ag,o we asked very important questions and found help here.
I have Portuguese and Turkish citizenship. I am currently living and studying in Berlin for my Master’s. My girlfriend is a Turkish citizen and has been studying for her Master’s in Germany since October 2021. She took her residency permit card in March for one year. We married in Denmark on 13.01.2023.
Now, she will apply for a residency permit card with the help of [https://service.berlin.de/dienstleistung/324282/en/](https://service.berlin.de/dienstleistung/324282/en/) movement. Meanwhile, she has a passport that will expire in August 2023, and in her passport, she is single. We have not informed the Turkish authorities yet, and she is planning to renew her passport as a single because the procedure in Turkey is quite complicated and would take longer than our expectations. Such as, in Turkey, she has to take my surname, but she doesn’t want; to not take the surname. She needs to apply additional things as well. We will inform them later, but we plan to renew her passport as a single and apply for a residency permit in Germany later. Afterward, she is going to renew her passport again.
Our question is this: Can she apply for a long-term residency permit in Germany with her Turkish passport, which indicates she is still single? We will provide our marriage certificate to the authorities, but she will seem single. Does this create a problem for the application?
Additional informants:
\- She already worked for six months until this July as a working student, and she also had enough savings.
\- Both of us have health insurance.
\- We have anmeldung & sufficient living space for two people in Berlin
Links to official documents would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you to everybody that provides links and answers.
