This must be a product of Italian immigrants, for years and years we’ve been putting ketchup on pizza and this is what American italians did to us back. Classic cheddar, how will we take revenge?

  1. NOT Italian. The company was founded in 1952 by Ted Twardzik.

According to his 2016 obit, he ” started this business in Shenandoah with his mother’s special pierogi recipe and five women in a kitchen.”

  2. Better off going to the Polish store or European market (if you have one near you) and getting the frozen ones there. I’ve seen some made by real Polish hands in those stores.

Or you can make them yourself, but that’s a different story

  3. Cheddar with potatoes? Is it some variation about ruskie pierogi?

  4. we put strawberrys into pasta…. let them have their fun… this doesnt sound half bad minus the whole store bought, frozen dinner part of it

  5. Pierogi with cheese actually bang tho, so no need for revenge

  6. Don’t we sometimes add white cheese into them? Isn’t this the same, except more salty?

  7. Cheddar is the British product and is quite popular in Northeast USA, Italians would have done it with Parmesan.

    So blame the English actually

  8. Mrs. T is short for Mrs. Truszkowska. Her food game was on point.

  9. Just break their spaghetti in half is good enought

  10. If it was italian it would be ravioli. If you want quality ones and widely available go with Giovanni Rana. Some olive oil and grated Parmigiano or Grana cheese on top.

  11. Canadian w/ Ukrainian father here and I feel solidarity with your despair over this hahaha. While I’ve had innovative/inauthentic/fusion pierogi that are pretty good, calling the dough “pasta” hurts my heart. And wtf does ‘made in batches’ mean? Of course they are made in batches! As opposed to what?!

… And now I’m craving my dad’s perfect homeade pierogi!

  12. Real cheddar is really rare to find in Poland so how come anyone got an idea of naming it a classic taste of pierogies?

  13. We could use Real Meat or make Hotdogs and Hamburgers … it would, really piss them off!
Edit: I retract the above. We already have our revenge … THE summer dish from Babcia. Spaghetti with Fruit and yogurt-cream and vanilla sugar! Spaghetti Summer Polonesse! If anyone can tell me the proper name for it I would,d appreciate it!

  14. Very common in Canada aswell. I’m sure plenty immigrants to Canada back in the day used cheddar as it was more common. Although we woukd never call it a pasta lol

  15. PierogiES with CLASSIC cheddar. Fuck you Italians. Let’s make a fruit pizza now.

  16. Zapiekanka might be why they are taking revenge on us. Zapiekanka is a sad communistic polish version of pizza after all
