That fourth and fifth amendment don’t look so bad now.

PM secured a deal with EU that takes back control over our laws.
So nobody has bothered to note that we are still remaining part of the ECHR, and that no real changes are being made to human rights law in the UK?
This is just the most recent evidence that the UK has descended to the same level of illiberal democracy as Hungary and Poland.
Notice how none of the “masks are tyranny” lot have very little to say about *actual* steps and proposals towards tyranny.
I like that Raab wants to protect British values like “Freedom of Speech”. Yet people get prosecuted for posting rap lyrics on Instagram, and his party is pushing through a bill that will allow the government to limit legal speech online it deems “harmful”
Good.
You get what you fucking vote for.
But at least you still have your “Sovereignty”, isn’t that right?
Whenever I have said that the Tories are coming for our human rights I got downvoted and told I’m living in a fantasy.
“I told you so” tastes so bitter in the mouth. It’s not satisfying in the least.
Do they not understand that’s what the Tories want?
Our records on human rights has been poor for a while. The way we treat the disabled and the poor has received condemnation from the likes of the WHO and the UN in the last decade. It was only a matter of time before they came for the rest of us.
