Ostensibly the ruling is that the government are allowed to discriminate against disabled people as long as they’re doing it on purpose.
Proposal: Make judges and MPs salary equivalent to standard benefits
As any disabled person knows, this government would rather we were all dead than help us in any tangible way.
I agree with the court.
It’s reasonable for the Government to expect a sudden influx of UC claimants due to the pandemic, that those people would face a sudden sharp fall in income. That those on preexisting benefits would not suffer a sharp fall as they had adjusted to that level of income.
Taking as read that the Government’s predictions were incorrect doesn’t mean it wasn’t a reasonable prediction at the time.
My dad can hardly walk any more and he gets less than a lot of people on universal credit, but multiple addicts get free mobility vehicles which they do not require
Not really as pPIP and ESA are pretty decent. A lot more than UVC. I get them myself.
It’s not just disabled people that didn’t get the uplift people who save the government money caring for them and claiming carers allowance also didn’t get it.
That headline is not the site’s headline. Nor is the headline – the one given here on Reddit – even the site’s headline together with a badly marked interpolation.
