Why would any gay couples care care if the archbishop approves of their marriage…
Outdated medieval nonsense, get in the bin you Bishops!
BBC attacks trans people and then virtue signals about gay people. This isn’t a news story at all. Everybody knows the church has issues with gay marriage and it has never not been that way.
Maybe the BBC should cover the story this week where an anti trans activist publicly quoted Hitler’s Mein Kampf in the ground of a church in Newcastle. Literally using genocidal language in to call trans people a Big Lie. Not only transphobic but anti semitic considered the person she is referring to was a gay Jewish physician who pioneered trans healthcare and his institute was targeted by the Nazis.
But of course the UK news media including the BBC conveniently avoids certain stories that show what’s really underneath the facade of anti trans activism. Had a trans person said similar it would be the fucking feature story of nearly every publication.
“The Church of England this week said it wants to offer blessings to gay couples but would not allow priests to marry them.”
“The Church also issued a formal apology for the “shameful” times it had “rejected or excluded” LGBTQI+ people.”
From the same article, the irony and lack of self awareness is astounding.
I don’t see what the issue is tbf, gay people can already get married. (Rightly so of course)
This is purely a religious matter, and I would expect the Church of England to actually follow the biblical teachings.
Honestly who gives a fuck what this outdated institution thinks or does.
Does anyone care what a religious establishment thinks of their love? Or anything else for that matter…
The only gay love the archbishop will support is between a man and a young boy.
Does this come as a surprise? Honestly do we really expect homosexuality to have a place in religion?
You will never see this expectation for Muslims. They will never bless a gay marriage but that won’t make headlines. Leave Christians to be Christians. It’s designed to be a religion that isn’t popular or comfortable.

Good. The church leadership had for too long been more concerned with what trendy modern society thinks about it than it has about teaching the gospel and growing the faithful. Unfortunately with management consultants like Welby running the show and most bishops being hopelessly wedded to progressivism I’m not too hopeful it will hold out much longer on this issue.
It’s despicable that these glorified re tellers of fairy tales sit in the House of Lords.
You cannot be mad at this, this is in line with Christianity
This makes me want to get gay married out of spite
People can sin all they like but the archbishop does not have to endorse sin. Why do sinners even care what the archbishop thinks?
People really have a hard-on for trying to get religions to accept homosexuals and transgenderism. If they don’t want to, leave them to it, why do they care so much lol.
It seems to be a recurring issue in society that people confuse the right to _be_ a specific identity, with the willingness of others to change their own beliefs to accommodate that identity.
You have the right to be gay and a practicing christian. But other people also have the right to freedom of their religion, and to believe that the combination is not in line with the religion’s principles.
Some people might believe, for instance, that it is discriminatory to require a Jewish mother to be Jewish. And they’d be right, it _is_ discriminatory. But if we are going to entertain a concept of freedom of religion, then we have to accept that religions have discriminatory rules.
The road where we cease to recognise freedom of religion is a road that has been taken before, and it is a very dark road indeed.
The bible is abundantly clear on homosexuality so why even try to get married by clergy in a church ?
About time the government grew a spine and taxed this organization like any other
I guess just stay out of religions if they are not allowing you to do what you want.
Can we get rid of these stupid dress up, bullshit spewing halfwits and their outdated nonsense.
Ironically I have more respect for religions like Catholicism or Islam that just out right despise gay people in their texts and practices. Church of England is this lame ass attempt to appeal to a wider population whilst simultaneous also being insidiously anti trans anti gay etc.
Just honestly, enough with religion. Why would you follow any of this crap especially if you are gay or trans. They hate you. Just leave and let these institutions die out as they inevitably will. It won’t affect your relationship with your god.
