I’m not a huge military enthusiast. But I’m fascinated to learn how Britain’s going to deal with the washing machines that General Dynamics strapped a chain-gun on top of.
We have an utterly pathetic number of MBTs. We own 227 challenger 2s, 1/3rd of which are in storage and being upgraded ( the program is highly likely to be binned). We can probably field 120 tanks.
Germany has 350 leopard 2s.
The USMC alone used to operate 400 Abrams – in total America feels about 4000 of them.
The armed forces have been devestated and consistent politically led, poor procurement decisions for decades have led to outdated, small in number equipment of all kinds.
