Hello Norwegian people,i would like to ask one question.
I really do like movies from Norway from the WW2 the resistance,i have seen Max Manus about 8 times, and tonight on Netflix there will be a movie about what did happen in Narvik, can you tell me if it is good or bad? And if you know about others norwegian war movies please let me know names.
Takk fyrir kæru norðmenn.

Kampen om Narvik didn’t do it for me. It has a lot of cool action scenes of course, but it felt too loosely put together, too fragmented. Too casual in its portrayals of the encounters between the nazis and the locals, as if any of them were stupid.
There is a new movie called “gulltransporten», it’s about getting Norway’s golden reserve to safety while getting invaded by the nazis. I enjoyed it a lot, hope you do too 🙂
Ok but is watchable isnt it?
Ah yes just saw it in the tv shop,i will certainly buy that one. Thanks for this man.
The War Sailor (Krigsseileren) is one of my favorite movies from WW2. And fun fact; one of the boats that is used as a set (including scenes from the engine-room) is a real veteran from both WW1 and WW2. Probably one of the last who sailed convoys in both wars. She’s called Hestmanden and is a museum ship in Kristiansand. She’s still operational too.
The Kings Choice (Kongens Nei) – Oscarborg festning and Blücher is one of my favorite scenes from a WW2 movie.
The 12th Man (Den tolvte mann) – it takes quite a bit of liberties in telling the story of Jan Baalrud’s attempt to cross the Swedish border, but if you haven’t read the Baalsrud’s biography it’s a good movie.
Operation Swallow: The Battle for Heavy Water: from 1948 got a lot of the people actually involved playing themselves,
Commandos Strike at Dawn: Propaganda movie made during the war, filmed in Canada and set in Norway
Nine Lives: is a classic, there is also a remake of it
The Kings Choice: is good and you can pair it with the Danish movie
April 9: which takes place at the same day
Do not watch the battle of Narvik. Its a truly awful movie in pretty much every aspect and doesnt do the battle justice at all.
The 12th Man is one of the best ive seen.
Check out “Kampen om tungtvannet”. It is a miniserie about the heavy water operation.
Heavy water wars was good as well.
