Dublin’s Spire at 20: The inside story of the city’s most divisive landmark

  1. Couldn’t even keep the lights on it working.
Wasn’t it called the Spire of Light or something, with lights running up along it near the top, and a light pointing in four directions about half way up.
All broke soon after it was installed and they never bothered to fix it. Or some idiot signed off on a design where maintenance was impossible or not factored into design.

  2. It certainly works as a “landmark” (you can pretty much orient yourself anywhere in the city based on it lol). As a piece of art, not so much.
