    And for the Vatican? Seems to me that after the last 20 years of conflict, any american security contractor should be more fit for the job that any 19yo Valais kid.

  2. I’ve always wondered this: if one country’s army (in an hypothetical scenario) attacks the Pope, what would they do? I mean do they have other weapons other than that halbard?

  3. The only bit that hits me wrong is that the halberd is a multi-purpose tool and sort of precursor to a Swiss army knife.

    Nah man it’s just two-weapons in one which is where the similarities with a Swiss army knife stop. It’s just for non-Swiss people to look at it and go “oh look how Swiss they are”. Makes me irrationally irritated.
