obligatory: At least he’s fucking men and not boys.
Why would you dedicate your life to an organisation that hates you for existing?
I don’t quite understand the thought process there…
1. “I’m gay”
2. “I’ll join organisation that’s anti-gay”
Bit of leopards eating faces there really…
It means you are a first rate intelligence according to Scott Fitzgerald: you have the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function.
Prob don’t devote your life to an organisation that opposes your existence then
It’s utterly bizarre to work for an organisation that repeatedly makes it very clear they despise you. If they’re weren’t able to hide behind religion they’d have been sued into oblivion for their discriminatory practices.
Its because you are a second class citizen to them for fucksake. I imagine it really sucks, which is why its so bizarre this guy sets himself up for self inflicted misery.
Joins cult, then gets mad cult doesn’t fit his lifestyle.
Interesting…
Imagine believing in all that spaff and being gay. Bonkers.
That’s like Karen complaining about loud noise at Nascar race.
What’s it like being trans in the UK and facing a barrage of crap from papers like the Guardian who then virtue signal over gay people.
It’s cause they hate you for what you are you twat. What did you expect???
You guys are so fucking dumb. There are a million reasons as to why a gay person might want to be part of the church. Most obviously that they didn’t realise they were gay when they became ordained and now it’s their whole life. Why should they give up their career, their theology, their whole value and belief system because an archaic system refuses to change – despite the fact that many millions of Christians are accepting of homosexuality. The idea that being a Christian is incompatible with being gay is as moronic when stated by the clergy as it is atheists. To those that ask ‘why not just leave?’: joining the church is a calling, a connection to a huge community. To step away from the church without even attempting to make it better, would be to tear away this man from his whole life. Why should he be the one to leave when the CofE is perfectly capable of changing policy to reflect modern values? It allowed women to become vicars not so long ago. Why would women want to be a part of something that discriminates against them? Because maybe it means more to them than we as atheists can understand; and maybe instead of blaming this gay man for being discriminated against, we should be supporting our Christian brothers and sisters in their struggle against the clerical elite.
I’m a huge Malcolm X fan and I joined the KKK, I feel extremely unwelcome at their meetings…
Why are we getting so many of these posts? The Church of England is not a democracy
