Keir Starmer suggests Met explore changing name in ‘root and branch’ review

  1. I can see the argument. As much as I’m not a huge fan of the police. It would be a shame to lose the name. It seems like a superficial fix, although NI argument is compelling

  2. Ight, but don’t go to some fancy agency for a rebrand that costs millions.

Come to me. I’ll give you this for £50. ***MPBB.***

    Mr Plod’s Boys in Blue.

  3. This so reminds me of the hitch-hiker’s guide quote:–

    >The lawyers experimented vainly with various ways of redefining murder, reevaluating it, and in the end even respelling it in the hope that no one would notice.

  4. He didn’t really. The interviewer brought up the NI example, he said yeah maybe, but what they really need to do is a culture change – which is hard. Seemed quite ambivalent on changing the name.

  5. A name change? Maybe move out of London too? That works for a lot of paedophiles who’ve been caught.

Ah no apparently Keir’s been watching Hot Fuzz and wants them to not use the word “force” any more.

  6. As (quite clearly) there are more metropolises than just London in the UK, it makes sense. Although rebranding won’t fix the fact half of their force are rapists.
