  1. Meanwhile in [domestic news *(in finnish)*](https://yle.fi/a/74-20014320) Haavisto said the following:

    >”Finland may have to reconsider the joint accession with Sweden, if the country’s application is stalled for an extended period.”

    >However Haavisto said it’s too early to take an official stance on the subject.

    Seems like frustration is mounting.

But considering we also have Hungary stonewalling the accession, merely abandoning Sweden like it’s 1808 isn’t some magic bullet that guarantees Nato accession.

  2. Question. How has Hungary also not approved? I’m so confused. Have they said why they’re also stonewalling? Such an odd country.

  3. Time for Nato countries to impose sanctions on Turkey like the way Russia were imposed. See how far can Receep play this funny game without western trade, tourists, and technology.

  4. We, the people of Sweden was not asked about joining NATO.

This shitshow is a receipt on why we only stick with collaborations and not alliances.

More and more of us want our government to withdraw the application. To be fair, when the PRO-nato side was at is biggest in the beginning of the war, only about 50% was pro

  5. The international community needs to learn how to form alliances that protects our core democratic values such as freedom of speech without being taken hostage by authoritarian leaders.

  6. It has become impossible after the events. Best bet would be after the elections in May with Erdog win or lose. He can’t accept Sweden after the burning because that would make him lose his idotic voterbase.

  7. Wait till after May 14 when Erdogan hopefully has lost the election. A new government will likely not engage in international fuckery as its first task. After all, they have a 80+% inflation to worry about.

  8. Turkey and Hungary have probably some sort of deal with Putina so it may be that Sweden and Finland will never get in to NATO. Hungary has purged all NATO supporting generals, Erdo needs all the support he can get to stay in power, and Putina will do everything he can to stop NATO from gaining new members.
