Am curious what original ideas Conner has for education. Like the opposition noted: Rousseau was hammering Weyts’ education policies but now immediately hangs his cart on Weyts’ half-baked idea rejected by most experts.
Guess this is an attempt to keep that door to a coalition with N-VA open while virtue signaling to the voters that Weyts was courting to begin with.
This is absolutely ridiculous, the idea of Weyts, and the fact that this guy gives it more breathing space.
Government needs to stop meddling with people’s private live. More and more they want to dictate how we should live.

Punishing the parents won’t do anything, if you want the kids to speak Dutch there’s a better but way more controversial solution: get rid of concentration areas.
Kids don’t learn Dutch because every kid at their school is of immigrant descent. The parents don’t have to speak Dutch because the area where they live has turned into little Northern Africa.
The kids will learn Dutch if the majority of kids speak Dutch on the playground and the parents will learn if they can’t go to the supermarket without it.
Test concludes: there is no clear link with speaking a different language at home
Politicians concludes: we need to punish people that don’t speak dutch at home.
