He valued freedom very highly (as Jefferson) and fought for it both in Poland and in then-emerging American state.

Tadeusz Kościuszko. Amazing man, one of the best people to ever come from Poland. A freedom fighter, a warrior, very progressive too.
In USA fighting for freedom Kościuszko has build best forts, so good that Brits weren’t very keen to even try capturing them. He finished engineering class in Europe and USA was happy to accept him and his skills
