  3. You’d think yerwan would check to see how NI voted on Brexit before she opened her mouth, so unprofessional, like isn’t it her job to be up on all that kind of information, I would say that it is a fairly important distinction that NI did in fact vote to remain in the EU!

Sky news ugh 🤦🏻‍♂️ sure remember the other presenter Adam Boulton asked Simon Coveney if Ireland was embarrassed for holding up negotiations on withdrawal agreement simply because Ireland wanted to know wtf was going on and we wouldn’t accept a wink and a promise from Theresa May 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Kay Burley has her moments but overall she’s a dope with instructions to go heavy on the little people and give politicians in England an easy ride during interviews often never following up when they don’t answer her questions, course if it was Mick Lunch or someone protesting for decent wages she’d throw obstacles at them and twist their words and act ignorant when hit with facts she prob did the same after what Mary Lou said didn’t see full interview

  22. This is why I’m voting Sinn Fein you don’t see Michael Martin or Leo varadkar talking like this and honestly I’m so fed up over how this countries run that I’m willing to give another party a go because honestly they can’t do any worse at this point

    (Just remember Michael Martin was talking about Bertie ahern for president not so long ago imagine one of the main people to cripple our economy becoming president it would be a slap in the face)

    And it’s hilarious to see anytime there’s controversy with Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael they instantly go oh what about Sinn Fein, Sinn Fein bad we good! Oh why are they bad aren’t you the guys running the country into the ground they’re not the one in charge you can’t blame how everything is because of them

    So yeah fuck it next election I’m voting for Sinn Fein because like I said I’m just happy to give someone else a try and see how they do

  28. She brings up an excellent point at the end. The Northern Ireland protocol was a compromise chosen by the UK to finalize brexit. Yes, it’s not great but it was the least bad of three options: Hard land border, sea border, or UK stays within EU borders. Their seemingly willingness to break an international agreement if their own making simply signals to the rest of the world that they are untrustworthy. What kind of image is that for a Global Britain?

  32. What I had a problem with was every year the eu seemed to take more and more control and power over every country and it was getting to the point where we couldn’t have left if we wanted to. I remember when they were trying to make us us the euro but we were like urm no.

    …but the last thing the tories&co wanted, was to win that referendum.

    The decision was made – made – to not campaign against Brexit in any way that drew attention to the GFA etc

    In law, this would not be considered recklessness, but intentional as they could reasonably foresee the harm.

  45. Some of the comments here are beyond bizarre. I never thought I’d see the day where Irish voters developed a cult of personality around a politician. In the 25 odd years of voting I’ve never viewed Irish politicians in anything but a mildly cynical light, no matter what their background or political leaning. This thread is just one massive circle jerk.
