The place I rent is on prepayment meter and economy 7 with SSE. (Electric only property)
We have old storage heaters which we never used.
Am I better off calling SSE and getting transferred from E7 to standard tariff?
I don’t use much electric after midnight.
We have just moved away from Eco 7 after 20 years to Octopus Agile and have already saved more then £10 in the last 4 days. We have a battery/ solars and removed all the storage heaters and got the immersion heater a wifi conroller so we can shedule everything on the cheaper tarriff times each day. Eco 7 is going up again in April. Im glad we are off it.What we lose out in the night charging “low rate” for the battery we more than make up for with the lower day rate. Atm Agile isnt cheap, cheap but it isnt ECO 7 days rates. The Octopus watch app means we know when its best to schedule the devices to come on; be it battery, washer and/ or immersion heater to save the most. We have the hugo app watching what we would have used on ECO 7 and Octopus watch for what we actually use on Agile. And in the past 4 days when we switched we have saved every single day.
