Thousands of treatments lost during nurse strikes

  1. All could be avoided with this one weird trick – pay them proper wages. Currently care workers band’s 2 and 3 get paid less than Aldi staff, band 4 usually after 18 to 2 years at Uni start at wages comparable to aldi warehouse staff and nurses start at 27k any quoted wages of nurses at above 32k are for band 6 deputy managers, shift leaders etc not your regular nurses

I think the 20% payrise for all healthcare staff and then keeping in line with inflation is a sensible place to be in.

So around £24 000 for a care worker that is responsible for spotting signs of your deterioration on a ward which can save your life. Who also works all sorts of bizzare hours. Going up to £27,500 with experience.

About £28 000 starting wage for a Band 4. Assistant Practicioneers, nursing associates, operations theatre support staff or pharmacy technicians all with level 5 uni qualifications. Going up to £31,500 with experience

Around £32 000 starting for a nurse who who has way more responsibilities that people imagine

Going up to £ 48 000 for top or band 6 experience nurses with supervisory roles that manage other nurses and have even more responsibilities.

This would ensure people want to start training to be nurses and would also allow us to be slightly more picky with care staff other than taking anyone who has 2 hands and 2 legs and is willing to work.

As example when I first started working in care with zero experience I was earning about £2.5 above min wage. I have since then have 15 years of mental health experience done 18 months at Uni and became band 4 assistant practitioner to earn about £2 more than min wage. I have effectively took a pay cut despite being way more qualified and experienced than I was 15 years ago.

Starting wage for nurse is £27 000 they are on this for 4 years before they get to £32k to be on it every year they jeed to prove they have done extra training in addition to mandatory training just to keep their PIN. Nurse is a job where you finish uni and then never stop training. The £32 000 is only £15.38 that is for experience nurse after many years at work. As an example for you aldi store manager STARTING wage is £48,490 and goes up to £63,245. Nurse managing entire ward gets £41 000 going to £48 000 and this is for a nurse that is highly experienced with years behind her belt, management training in addition to nursing training managing 10s of nurses and healthcare staff. I would argue that such nurse should be on more than aldi store manager.

Aldi night shit supervisor is on £35,360 that is MORE than top of band 5 nurse with degree and 5+ years of experience.

Here is [assistant store manager at aldi](https://uk.indeed.com/m/viewjob?jk=885c56c9a940c809&advn=6308750170482383&adid=405428071&ad=-6NYlbfkN0DnVRAL8x5jcUPMT79QiItBTL8fSfB4NQ45pmYOFhEanwKDoiRGAlHcAYA0IKID8HGonNjrRxRYH9QpF37gDGoJtr3uynXdm1xtXNtELM_AaewtCR-ax5K4rejcRjz3cueM1jYt8klqSfCpHtNN7pIwAMN_uUDfgY5DO0sB_134IGDxhru8Wan7LttMpMCooTuiWeLlbdWJxPFYsNDzfcBXAewXSXGueQACDDZEdO5uatPShCrYonVMKHcO0m2LR4_wxsNFChrk9lxZ98i5j8R9BzAWmcpwX7m4_U1AkDK755mVPAZu3KAzZ9wYqkcSHjhQC17uheBu–eqTbAp57o4VQoFClc4UHlClJqqy3Ea6xCkCrkGBceGDBS_1ZY7RKzmvoNNkoh6s7xLYr-Cg-OBqKdo5YqWyhoKZquc5Ws9ut9qzpA5KYHVfLxSH8zIwPkGMf7uTxy82lE5tfj5obnqVd5dAVpNAzI%3D&from=serp&dest=https%3A%2F%2Faldi.vacancy-filler.co.uk%2FCandidate%2FAdvertDetails%2Fwy6JJgWHqr9AxwdMk-hHkB0Vg-e5RGzV6WPHGnIig5M%3Futm_source%3DIndeed%26utm_medium%3DJobBoard%26utm_campaign%3DStores&desth=a99914a7dbadac458a2fa68ea07a9a9e&tk=1gn88718rkjjq800&dupclk=1&acatk=1gn887i63icaa802&pub=6917c08ec3ecf6012dd26f3773156e870cace3277f6b99df&xkcb=SoB3-_M3UoYT8AQHJZ0KbzkdCdPP)

At 33k with no qualifications this is more than a nurse with 5 years experience

  2. Put the blame where it lies.

The government that’s systematically underfunded the service while saying how they’re “saints” and “essential workers”

It’s a service, not a for-profit business, which tories either don’t understand or don’t want to understand – my money’s on the latter.

What price do you put on the health of the nation?

  3. Ah yes, why don’t we blame the people striking for the side effecst if them being in a situation where they are overworked and underpaid

It’s obviously their fault, that they don’t know their place. These damn peasants trying to rise above their station

  4. You know what I think, nurses should go on strike until they’re all earning £100,000+ every year considering they can hold the country to ransom, and the people here would still find a way to blame the government, our precious nurses could never do anything wrong.

  5. *Thousands of NHS operations and appointments have had to be cancelled because of the nurses’ strikes in England this week.*

No shit Sherlock. That was pretty much the point of a strike.
