I used to live under a flight path in the US (planes in and out @ 3K feet.
You learn to live with it, and then miss it. The first few days after the covid lockdowns and flights being cancelled were weird. I’d be out for a walk and something would unsettle me..it was the lack of planes coming in every 2 minutes
I live as close to a much busier airport. You get used to it and it’s not that bad. Windows also rattle in high winds, but you don’t have anyone to complain to about that.
Hold on…someone claimed that aircraft noise can cause diabetes? Now that is a new one.
I hear them coming near sutton and see them fly near portmarnock. You can only really hear it at the dead of the night and you wouldn’t hear them inside
At the end of day, the choice is either a few hundred who are bothered by noise or millions of euros flying into this country from trade and tourism.
