  1. What’s interesting is that Pompeii weren’t discovered until some time later (18th century?), so Botticelli couldn’t have been inspired by the fresco shown on the right.

  2. I am writing a book entirely dedicated to this Botticelli painting. Early stages though. Hopefully you can all read me in 2024. 😅👍
