i contemplate, honor and mourn for the rest of my dowgiałło and extended family who were not given that chance to survive; those who stalin and the nkvd tried to erase from existence and reduce to mere names on a list. my great grandfather’s brother, karol marian dowgiałło, was murdered at katyń. this morning i remind myself that not for lack of effort, that they did not, *they cannot* erase us; and that love and spirit will ultimately prevail over hatred and evil.

Only 3 out of 7 people responsible for Katyn were Russian
And that Katyn wasn’t a crime commited on national background but rather ideological which was commited by NKVD units which consisted of multiple ethnicities as USSR was incredibly diverse.
