Reading this same news posted in r/worldnews I’m having second thoughts that we might actually be the baddies. Did we join the Russians over the weekend or something?
I’m an observer from the United States trying to make sense of all of this. Will Poland replace the Leopards with Abrams tanks? And it seems that in terms of the pecking order for countries over there Poland is ascendant as they have seen clearly what the result of victory of one side versus the other can bring to them. It seems Poland is very proactive.
The largest criticism of Ukraine I read over here is that it is a corrupt country. Any scandal that breaks out will not help the perception. But by and large I think the US population supports Ukraine.
With regard to Russia, they just constantly threaten catastrophic war with anyone who holds a different view than them. It doesn’t look like there is a negotiable solution at this point.
It’s a mess and I wish the best for Poland/Baltics and have the greatest sympathy for the people of Ukraine.
