  1. Are we on a cycle or something? High prices to what I assume is to claw back costs from living payment with profit.

  2. Whoopido!

It’s like the public transport cap in some areas. I’m saving £8 a week. Wow! That’s a great help.

    Our government hasn’t a clue.

  3. Trillion dollar economy.

I’ve seen statistics that up to 50% of parents in the North of England are food insecure.

And this is supposed to help that problem?

  4. As a carer, I’d like everyone to know the rate hasn’t increased since the pandemic (additional £2 weekly). We get £10 bonus for Christmas, woo hoo. They are acknowledging there’s a problem, but not paying anyone to compensate it. You’re expected to live on £69 a week on carers allowance, working a minimum of 35 hours per week. The £2 increase didn’t even cover the increase due to the pandemic, let alone the current situation.

  5. I’m really fucking confused. All these schemes being touted, you can get this, that, this is available, government is doing this, that and the other.

Yet… When you try to research/apply for it, there are numerous hoops you have to jump through, apply to, or some councils simply don’t know what you’re on about.

Claims its automatic, then you have to apply somehow, somewhere.

    Its BONKERS.

People need help. Why not keep it simple. Bung them money and end of.

I’ve utterly given up as a result.

  6. Is that in one payment or is it spread out over the year? Wouldn’t want the poors spending it all at once

  7. My SO “popped to Sainsbury’s” came back with two bags of shopping and spent £65! This payment will help me for all of one evening

  8. Lol

Is this increase because now UK has more bilioners tham ever? 1% of top rick in Uk being more rich than 70% of global population? So now thoes who actually need money, because all this benefits are more difficult to get than people assume, and you will be constantly check if you still “qualify”*, will get something, there, who knows, maybe it helps them with a Netflix or such subscription to smother the miserable life they need to life with no way of improving. But hey, there is Joe from gym who thinks everyone need to do gym….maybe we should do the same with People in torture chambers, people who suffer constant domestic and psychological abuse, childre who are sexually exploited ahh, just so many choses that no one funds (just check foster homes and care home stories, real one btw) since
LEGALLY rich can get more and more rich because we definitly need them. No clue why, but apparently it’s a an unwritten agreement eith everyone that we need rich people and if poor people live in misery, that that, just let’s not bother the rich

*even if permanently blind, learning disability, any other physically disability including missing limbs, thoes people will constantly check if you are still “entitled”

  9. Oh wonderful. I can heat my house for an extra 10 minutes.

Woop woop fuck you poverty, I’m about to rise above you.

  10. Why are we supposed to be grateful that taxpayers money is going to prop up shareholders dividends?

We could cap profit for essential services. And by could i mean should.

  11. 12k a year. No help with bills. Two kids and a partner who has mental health issues that are severe enough to make her un-hireable but not enough to qualify for any kind of help according to the dwp.

All I get told is to get a better job, despite the fact that I have to balance working with being around enough to support my partner with the kids. Life is shit at the moment and I don’t know how I’m gonna get us all through it.

  12. Whoa there! Handing out that sort of fortune like that, why, next thing you’ll get is that no one will want to work!

…because they’re too hungry, cold and sick to go on.

  13. £65.

Cheers Rishi, that’ll help cover your the cost of Shell putting their prices up for you to profit more.

    Useless prick.

  14. This country is so damaged. A huge step in the right direction would be to build more affordable housing.
So low income people will have more disposable income.

  15. I can’t comprehend how people on lower paid jobs are managing, I’m earning more than I ever have in my life and we’re still struggling a little.

  16. Wow £65 that’s nearly 2/3 a tank of fuel, or almost a weeks worth of foot for the standard family, or maybe half a school uniform, or perhaps you could use it to not freeze to death for four days, but on that fifth day you better just hope the ambulances and hospitals aren’t on strike because your dead if they are, fucking good job there you Tory cunts you’ve fucking solved it!!

  17. WTF

My family of 3 was given a total of $1k by the state of california to alleviate our suffering from high prices

No questions asked, everybody got cash, rich or poor

  18. That’ll cover a block of cheese, a 4 pint of milk, 12 eggs, and one roll of Blitz kitchen towel.
