F-16 Modernization Increasingly Important For Turkey As Greece Gradually Gains Unprecedented Airpower Advantage

  1. It could get there.
    – F-16: the upgrade of the F-16s to the latest Block is underway, but it’ll take a couple more years
    – Rafale: Greece order 18, if I recall correctly, and got 6 of them last year (2022)
    – F-35: The biggest swing in the balance. Greece wants them, like every country in the world. Wanting about 20 of them. IF Greece gets the F-35s as well, then it’ll be able to fortify its FIR against Turkey or anyone else

IMHO, the ideal scenario would be to get Gripen-Es instead of upgrading its F-16 fleet. Then it would almost impossible for Turkey to attack, even if Greece didn’t manage to get F-35, which it might not.

  2. The fact that this article focuses on two NATO allies should be considered an embarrassment for the alliance to begin with.

The Putinoids of this world are reading this while having popcorn.
