  1. ‘Hey everyone, fancy accepting our wonderful new offer that’s still under inflation for last year alone over two years, while still giving up your hard fought rights around Sunday working and allowing us to create a new’ you have to do everything role’?

I think I can predict how this will go..

  2. Pfft i know a couple of people that work on the railways, it is one of those most overpaid over subscribed industries to work in.

The reason the pay rises are so expensive is because of 15yrs+ of govt’s bowing down to rediculous union demands and everytime they give in the cycle begins again and next years rises are even more unaffordable.

Rather than denying them the rise. Give them whatever they want every year and see how long that gravy boat lasts for before the rail industry goes insolvent and they all loose their jobs through greed.

You could sack all of them tomorrow and find enough people to replace them on half of their current salary and benefits packages by the end of the weekend.

Im all for unions they are important for fair treatment, im not for greed!. Why don’t they switch places with Royal Mail staff then they will see what being taken advantage of looks like 👌 they have had it so good for so long they have forgotten what poor working conditions look like.

  3. Hopefully they take what’s on the table and get back to work. We’ve had enough of their shenanigans.

  4. The government will not settle, with either the railways or health services, until AFTER the majority of private sector pay deals are announced mid March.

They know the private sector will utilise any double digit pay settlement for their own negotiations too.

Come April, the public sector will come out winning with big increases, and they know it!

  5. The government and their corporate bitches are just not engaging in negotiations they want to drag it out and cause more hardship for everyone.
