So, basically the last big, exprienced, OG human rights group in Russia, which was working since 1976, will be shut down by decision of court.
The court hearing took 20 minutes as per Лентач TG channel.
This continues the trend of the brutal crackdown on anything related to freedom of speech or human rights in Russia, that started back in 2014. It also aligns perfectly with the immense censorship, that has been covering everything in RF since February 24, 2022 like a fucking tsunami.
The Helsinki group was the firt organizazion to respond to mass departure of inmates from colonies and prisons after the Wagner Group started coming to light in larger scale in spring of 2022. The official letters and enquiries to the Ministry of Justice about the freed inmates were left unanswered.
TL;DR – It just gets worse in RF.
I bet the people over at r/Chomsky will be really upset about this and condemn Russia for it. They’re really big on human right monitoring.
