A sex offender being held in a women’s prison after assaulting a child in a supermarket lavatory has been confirmed in court as having been born a biological male.

Katie Dolatowski was sent to Cornton Vale Prison near Stirling last year after breaching a restriction of liberty order. It was imposed after she breached the terms of a sexual offences prevention order by failing to disclose a change of address. The order was given after she sexually assaulted a ten-year-old girl in the lavatory of Morrisons in Kirkcaldy, Fife, in 2018.

Dolatowski, 22, appeared from custody on Monday after being arrested over the weekend for missing court. She had been scheduled to appear at Falkirk sheriff court last week to be sentenced for physically assaulting an inmate in January 2021, while on a male wing at Polmont Young Offenders Institution in Stirlingshire. Dolatowski was in the young offenders’ prison for a physical assault in Glasgow.

Ruairidh Hood, Dolatowski’s solicitor, said: “She identifies as a female after being born as a male. At the time of the incident in 2021 she had been sent to a male prison, where she was subject to some abuse and struggled to fit in within the community within the prison. As a result, she took matters into her own hands. She understands, now, that there were better ways to go about this.”

Rachel Hill, prosecuting, said that the inmate who was assaulted, Peter Patterson, 20, had been at a hotplate getting lunch when he “felt as though he had been pushed”. He was then “repeatedly punched about the head” by Dolatowski.

Hill said: “She stated that Patterson had made certain comments towards her the previous evening.”
Dolatowski, whose last address was in Dunfermline, Fife, pleaded guilty to assaulting Patterson by punching him repeatedly in the head and body.

Sheriff Alison Michie imposed a “structured deferred sentence”. Introduced in 2021, according to the Scottish government these should be “relatively short periods of focused intervention with the specific objectives of meeting an individual’s assessed criminogenic and non-criminogenic needs and building their motivation and capacity for positive change”.

Michie said: “The options are extremely limited and she appears with a very lengthy record, but this particular offence occurred nearly three years ago now.” She ordered Dolatowski to appear for a review hearing in March.
A month before the assault in the lavatory, Dolatowski had filmed a 12-year-old girl on the lavatory in another supermarket in Kirkcaldy. For these offences she had been put on a three-year community payback order and banned from contact with children.

  2. The times using a picture with a filter on it. I recall reading in the local paper about dolatowski and her then boyfriend a boy wishart attending court in relation to having child porn images. He got 2 years and she got a suspended sentence this did this shit. The legal system is a laughing stock.

  3. Absolutely disgusting to assault a child – I don’t give a fuck if it is a man or a woman or whatever committing this heinous act. Hope this piece of shit gets stern punishment.

  4. If only a gender critical genital inspector had been guarding the doors of these supermarket toilets to prevent them from entering then this might have been prevented.
