After a few hours reading tax and law related stuff, I concluded becoming a Kleingewerbetreibender is the best option for me.
I would buy and sell physical goods and earn profit *hopefully*.
My first step would be getting a trade license, called **Gewerbeschein**. After obtaining it, I would do the **Fragebogen zur steuerlichen Erfassung** (please correct me if I’m wrong).
Apparently I already did the first mistake in the process, since I did a **Fragebogen zur steuerlichen Erfassung** submission already through [https://www.getsorted.de/](https://www.getsorted.de/) before getting the Gewerbeschein…

In the case of creating a small business *Kleingewerbe* in Germany, I read one must have health insurance.
I work vollzeit in Germany where I already have public health insurance. How would this work? Should I contact TK (in my case) and start paying them even more?
Is switching to private insurance a clever move?
Vielen dank!

afaik if you’re a self-employed in addition to employment income, you just have to pay additional social contributions on your self-employed income, up to the cap. If you’re already at the cap, you don’t need to pay anything additional
Yes, you need to notify TK of your change in status and they calculate your new contribution
