Found this while cleaning today. To any coin collectors/enthusiasts, are these worth anything or am I waisting my time looking into it? Also what’s the best way to clean coins. They look pretty cool all the same.

  1. If I remember when this coin was first issued, and then withdrawn, does that make me old too?

    *cries in denial•

  2. From what I seen on various shows ya don’t clean coins you’ll only damage them. That being said it’s a punt it’s not worth your time. Even the millennium punt is only worth it’s exchange value iirc. There’s not a great market for Irish coins.

  3. You don’t even show the reverse to see the year. Practically everyone’s saved their millennium coins. I’ve a small leather bag full of old Irish coins. Rarity and uncirculated is the biggest factor.
When I was kid I stole my dad’s uncirculated decimalisation collection of coins circa 1971 I think to buy sweets in the local shop.

  4. This is fake; nothing existed before the EU. It’s very similar to the big bang. Just a bunch of peoples standing about and then BANG, the EU.

  5. if you’d a few of them as a child they’d get ya alot of chocolate, world cup year too, if ya have one of those in your pocket and someone shoots ya, it’ll stop the bullet
