  1. before denomination, divide it by 10 000, and i am not sure if they are really supported by bank anymore – so more or less its worth about 7PLN now- but more of collectibles – not high value tho

  2. I miss Maria in my wallet 🙂

They aren’t precious, in the best case you could sell them for 20/30zł. Trash them or keep them for the next 100 years 🙂

  3. Not much value.

Funny thing though: 20 000 note was in circulation, but was quite uncommon. In most cases you saw 10 000 and 50 000. Even more uncommon was the 2000 note.

  4. I always thought that dude on the 50k note looks surprised at all the zeros.

  5. Thousand years in the future they will have historical value 😉

  6. Why oh why do we have such underwhelming bank notes now. And all men.

  7. They have collector’s value. As I see, they are in moderately good shape. This 20k bank note is worth even over 100 PLN when in perfect shape. Your obliviously is not, but I bet you can get like 30-50 for it. 50k seems to be more common, but I guess again 20-30 PLN is possible. I have small collection, but I focus on coins, my knowledge about papers is very limited, I mostly based my answer on fast research on auctions.

  8. With current rate inflation is rising, they might be used again soon lol

  9. Pay them in polish shop and observe face of the cashier…priceless

  10. In this state – They are literally pieces of paper.
Number – not a good one too.
Rarity – common / mass produced

  11. They look like they’re in good condition.

They are from the time we had a very high inflation. They were converted to current currency by cutting 4 zeroes, so the nominal value is pretty low, but maybe they have some value for hobbyists, but probably not much, as they used to be in circulation not long ago.

  12. Not really. The whole reason those banknotes stopped being used was that despite having big numbers they were worth jack shit

  13. With the current inflation in Poland I have a feeling that these might be re-used very soon #***** *** 😂😂😂

  14. Any currency collectors on here? What would these two be worth if uncirculated? PMG 60+

  15. When these could still be exchanged by the central bank:

    20,000 PLZ = 2 PLN

    50,000 PLZ = 5 PLN

So, over all, that’s 7 PLN, which is $1.61.

But maybe you’ll be able to sell those on Allegro/eBay/OLX/whatever for more, if you find a sucker.

  16. Only in museum, even if converted to current polish złoty you wouldn’t get 0,01zl for that

  17. All Poles have that stuff in their drawers, wait another century to value them.

  18. 2 and 5 zl, respectively, I think you can still exchange them in banks. Not exactly worth waiting in the line…

  19. Ah, Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa. Neither “people’s” nor a “commonwealth” nor really “Poland.” I do not miss those years.

  20. That was the only time that I was a millionaire when I went on holiday to Poland 1989 / 1990. Good times.

  21. Bro it’s literally written on the notes, 20k and 50k, enjoy your shopping.

  22. Damn. I found some old leu, they are now worth double

  23. They are looking very good. I want 50zł with our pope- Jan Paweł II

  24. When I was young my grandma gave me 8000 to buy butter

  25. Thank you all for your replies!! I have plenty of them and also different numbers (500k, 100k,10k,1000, 100..) I am not Polish neither living in Poland. I guess I will just store them somewhere and keep them there, you never know what happens in the future.

  26. Man, I remember buying tic tacos for 2k at Białe Jezioro as a kid

  27. If they were perfect maybe. But they aren’t so they are worth basically nothing

  28. Toilet paper unfortunately : (

I have a few from 1946, not worth much.

Keep because they’re cool, not valuable 🙂

  29. The one in the bottom is worth 50k of nothing and the top one is worth the equivalent of 20k of nothing

  30. Their value is in demonstrating the failure of a socialist economy.
