  1. I don’t really have an opinion on this, but it’s funny that they’re doing this at the same time that the Tories are trying to force through fees for GPs and the NHS in the UK.

  2. Ngl I’d rather pay the 80euro and get seen to in a reasonable amount of time than get a free visit but having to wait days to be seen.

  3. I honestly can’t remember the last time a hospital sent me a bill.

I had x-rays, blood tests and then a referal to a different specialist over the last 5 years for a single issue (not high risk, so no hurry, I guess. Also respiratory related and COVID pushed me way back of the line as they were overwhelmed and dealt with anyone with a slight risk suddenly became high risk). I don’t mind paying. I have private insurance but had to go public for this issue because it was a preexisting condition (as in I reported it to the doctor before my insurance kicked in).

Never got a single bill. At this stage it amounts to around 7 or 8 visits. X-rays, specialists, sleep study. Not a single bill or call from the hospital. I honestly don’t know how to pay if I was billed.
