Lived in Dublin all my life. I was at least 16 before i knew what the word really meant. To this day its still the first word that comes to mind when I see a scrote. I’m definitely not the only one in Dublin that sees the word this way, rightly or wrongly.

If any other country talked about their indigenous people like that, us Irish would be one of the first to reprimand them for it. What makes us think we can talk about our own ethnic minority so badly, especially when they have been pushed to the edges of society. Really saddens me. There are good and bad people in every group, regardless of creed.
