Considering that actual UK GDP growth is virtually the same as France and Germany since 2016, the idea that it would be a whopping 5.5% ahead of them without Brexit is mind bogglingly stupid. It would be an economic miracle.

The world’s economies are fucked because of central Bank policies who all act in concert with each other to achieve their goal of being the buyer and lender of last resort. Forget all the bullshit spouted by them on behalf of their masters . Put simply wealth, prosperity and growth is achieved by working in proper industries, which does not include the rigged casino banking system.

I don’t know if it will boost the economy, but if next winter will be like this one, then I’m *deeply* interested in seeing the reopening of some coal mines. Lofty goals like sovereignty and leading emissions goals is all good, but how about being able to afford putting on the central heating first?

With the Tories forcing through an obviously self harming, Brexit, which stripped rights from us, I’m not surprised. In many ways they deserve it – but it sucks it impacts those of us who knew it was a disaster from the start.
If Brexit wasn’t forced through by a bunch of corrupt, self interested politicians, just imagine how much better off we’d be now.
We’ve apparently spent decades worth of what it would have cost to be EU members in just a few years, on top of losing loads of EU workers, having rights stripped from us, wasted loads more money going into Tory (and friends) pockets. Cutting ourselves off has rasied prices alone (more fees, paperwork, less supply). I don’t know the exact amount but I’m sure the government has wasted Billions and Billions. Throw in covid and now Ukraine, and it makes everything worse. But because of Brexit we’re the only country on earth having to deal with it’s own stupidity in hurting itself.

You only have to read threads here on laughing gas, vapes or e-scooters to see why the UK is fucked economically. Huge supports for authoritarian bans, little interest in promotion of a new and upcoming market.

Not near as bad as the United States…at least people in the uk have healthcare.
Why we comparing it to major economies, we already have a currency that fluctuates like a unstable minor economy.
Maybe we should start to be compared in manner that was voted for Brexit after all does mean Brexit, and the economy of Brexit Little England that comes with it.
