Really frustrating that they don’t do a joint account (yet), otherwise I’d switch completely.
It’s great Revolut are doing this. It’s an utter disgrace it makes any difference.
Every user to be given one, sweet. I’ll be using it for my wages and bills so 👌
I have an IBAN on revolut. I also have a PTSB account with no fees!!! So win win for me.
I’ll be still using my local ptsb account for mortgage approval and history.
Just seen how quick these tech companies can implode recently. Not that banks are much different mind you.
Yep, all my direct debits are out of the Revolut account; only one company flat out refused to accept the Lithuanian IBAN… Sky TV.
I know Revolut is easy to use but i still feel happier being able to walk in the door of an actual building and speak to an actual person if i have an issue. Even though it takes around 20mins to get in the door of an AIB nowadays!
The Government bailed out the banks. I wonder would they bail out Revolut or N26 if we have another crash?. History says we have a big recession every 20/30yrs. I wonder is the money as secure in Revolut?.
Revolut by being everyone’s second bank will ultimately win this race if they keep their fees low. I’d use them as number 1 if the withdrawal for cash fees wasn’t included
Not exactly too safe to be stashing your cash in, company has yet to make a profit. When there’s an issue like a transfer bouncing back or getting lost be prepared for a long wait, they are not staffed like a bank..
As soon as Irish Iban arrives: BYE BYE BOI.
Will be handy for setting up a routine standing order from my pillar bank
fwiw I was dealing with a solicitor recently and they would not deal with Revolut accounts. Wouldn’t clarify just said accounts in revolut are not acceptable as per the [whatever central governing legal body is again] for financial transfer i.e. mortgages etc. So anyone relying on only Revolut watch out for interacting with solicitors in future for legal things that might be an issue you could run into.
A bit of a nuisance that the old Lithuanian IBAN will become invalid afterwards, so you have to change the details for anywhere you’re using the account now (payments, direct debits, saved transfer targets from other banks, etc.)
Finally!
Great, this could be adios to AIB time for me.
Now we need to entice more mortgage providers into Ireland. Let them come in and cherrypick their customers (i.e. Zero risk of default customers), then undercut BOi/AIB. They’d make a fortune.
Struggling to get SSE Airtricity to update my own non Irish IBAN (because fuck ever using any of your subpar banks again).
You can’t get their online form to work with non IE IBANs even though it’ll give you the thumbs up which is very misleading. And then when you get in touch with their support for a manual update, the motherfuckers do not reply to you.
Or: Why my Revolut account number is changing **for the 3rd time!**
Do be aware this company was founded by and is owned by Russians. Not sure I would trust my money and information to them.
Make sure if any of ye get paid with the old IBAN ye let yer payers know asap. I have to do it and I’m dreading Revolut not updating me or missing the email 😭
Tbh, can someone message me when it happens? Cheers.
I just went through the hassle of moving all my DDs and SOs to revolut from KBC with the LT IBAN and now I’m raging I’ve to do it again with the IE IBAN.
Odd that the change to an Irish IBAN is being forced, rather than offered. Might be a bit of a hassle for people.

Of note, their Direct Debit update form is very colourful (would waste a terrible amount of ink) and yet brags about going green or something alike. [Absolute piss-take](https://www.sseairtricity.com/assets/Uploads2/Forms/Republic-of-Ireland-Direct-Debit-Mandate.pdf).
