Longitude 2023 lineup

  1. This is absolute tripe compared to last year. There’ll surely be better announcements to come

  2. I went to Longitude in 2016 (I think, The National were playing) because my mate’s girlfriend won two pairs of tickets. I didn’t know many of the artists playing but I still got to get drunk and have an aul’ jig (I’m from the hills, so I do be at the jigging so I do). We had a good laugh that day because Jamie XX looked like a disgruntled geography teacher and his music really communicated that. It was a decent day out. Lots of teenagers touching each others’ front business though. Not a fan of that now. Could’ve done without that.

  3. What artists in the 90s were as universally known to be muppets as Travis Scott? His fans are all too young to understand what a prick he is but it’s clear the guy is a self centred geebag. Maybe Limp Bizkit or Vanilla Ice?

  4. I’ll always have great memories of Calvin Harris at Oxegen 09, and a lot of his songs around that time. So it’s kind of nice to see him on that lineup.

Is he still as popular these days? I’m out of touch with these things, as is evident by me knowing nobody else on this list except Travis Scott (and I only know him because of the crowd crush incident).

  5. Joey Bada$$ I would go for alone but I’m far too old to be at that festival 😆 any hope of him playing the Olympia after for the grey hairs?

  6. I mean Calvin Harris is a decent headliner

I would just go for the Saturday night for him alone tbh

Joey Badass is pretty good too, I seen him at EP a few years ago and he came back on stage with Rejjie Snow in the Other Voices stage and it was a pretty hype performance

  7. Probably get downvoted because yes, I’m older and yes, I don’t recognise many of the names.
However, are festivals here getting harder to fill?

You look to the U.K., to Glastonbury and Leeds Reading for example, or even the big European festivals. It’ll be packed full of bands – stuff for everyone, new and old, all genres. You’ll always see a few big rock bands in three, as well as other genres.

It does now seem that Irish festivals are exclusively aimed toward 18-25 year olds with almost all contemporary stuff that likely won’t appeal to anyone over 30/35.
Rock/indie music seems to have gone completely out of fashion here for festivals.
Am I wrong to think that?

Or look, Maybe I’m just old and out of touch.

  8. I recognize like 3 names on that, and Harris is the only one I’ve listened to for any length of time.

But I will say, “Belters Only” is a cracking name, so I do intend to see if that name is being done justice.

  9. No Tyler the Creator this year, I see. I didn’t go last year, but it was a smart move to have him on the line-up.
