Covid is a cardiovascular disease. It affects your heart. It is quite well associated with heart issues. In fact, it’s thought to be the root of a lot of the “Long Covid” stuff these folks always brush off.

D-Dimer is raised for a lot of reasons, acute infections being one of them. Using D-Dimer to screen for micro clots will lead to a lot of unnecessary further testing for most people who have a positive D Dimer. The health system couldn’t support it
Im waiting on tests for an actual medical condition with painful symptoms for the last 6 months (without sight of even an appointment date yet due to backlog) and this idiot thinks we should overrun the health system further for pointless tests where there are no symptoms?

The D-dimer test is a non specific test for inflammatory markers- a positive or negative result in this test is nearly meaningless without a more specific clinical indication (or a reason to be searching for inflammation). Unfortunately being vaccinated does not meet that criteria.
Not sure what treatment OP has in mind for someone who is vaccinated and has a positive D dimer, absent other signs/ symptoms.

I had elevated D-Dimer with suspicion of blood clot when I had actual COVID and had I NOT been vax’d I would have been admitted to the hospital. No clots found and the vax was my ticket home instead of inpatient isolation for 10 days.
