Good evening ,
just yesterday i received a mail (not E-mail) regarding an order for an Air fryer that i supposedly did a couple of days ago.
now what is strange is that since before i open the envelope i had NO idea that [bader.de](https://bader.de) even existed !!
and now i have a letter saying that if i want to carry on with purchasing the said item i have to find a proper way to pay them..

now this came with some red flags.
1. they called me ” Mrs” instead of “Mr”
2. on my address there was no phone contact number (saying that since all the other invoices that i ever had all had my mobile phone number included )
3. at the start of the year i did place an order for an Air fryer in AMAZON from a Chinese seller (i noticed that after like 2 weeks) that was fishy from the start , the said seller does not even exist anymore , the tracking number that i was provided states that DHL is still waiting for further info from the seller and i filled a refund and already got my money back from AMAZON
now my question is… although it seems that it MIGHT be that the Chinese seller actually sold / gave my data to scammers…how do i proceed with the letter from [bader.de](https://bader.de)?
they do seem to be a legitimate site / company , but do i just ignore the letter? do i contact them?
anyone else had any similar experience?

Write to [bader.de](https://bader.de) and amazon, you can pretty much copy this post 95% and send it to them.
Tell bader that you didn´t order anything and want it cancelled + your data deleted from their site.
Ask amazon if this could have something to do with the chinese seller, that you already contacted bader and wait for a reply.
“Bader” is a mail oder company that has been around for decades. They are legit.
No Idea what happened there. I suggest you contact them and state you never ordered an air fryer (or anything else). Even if you had ordered one, consumer protection law states you have a 14 day window to cancel your order.
All my alarm bells are ringing bc this sounds like **somebody stole your identity.**
Like many old fashioned mail-order giants, Bader offers “auf Rechnung” as a payment option.
There is a common scam that works this way: First, you obtain the identity of a person including their birthdate. Second, put the last name of this stolen identity on your door / mailbox. Make it look like your boyfriend / girlfriend moved in. Third, order a bunch of stuff from Bader, Otto and all the other mail order giants (some of them are out of business now). If the scammer is home, the mail person will simply give the scammer the stuff. Step four, move away from this address several months later.
It will take approx 6-9 months for the mail order companies to catch on that the scammer never paid any bills.
At this point the mail order companies will start doing a “Melderegisterauskunft”, looking for the person who ordered all the things. To them, this is you and they will come after you.
You need to take this letter to the police and do “Anzeige gegen unbekannt” and report a case of possible stolen identity.
Contact Bader and inform them that you never ordered anything from them.
Make sure you obtain a credit report from Schufa, Infoscore Consumer Data, Bürgel, Creditreform Boniversum and Deltavista. Look for “Selbstauskunft”.
