Hey all,

I am visiting your lovely country in two days. Seeing that there is a chance of rain for the days I’m staying, I was wondering how bad the rains can be? Would it be okay if I came in [Converse All-Stars](https://dr9l7gb9cebpv.cloudfront.net/media/catalog/product/cache/2774d42b8e55ba58cfe3fc9632392955/1/3/132173c_a_107x1.jpg) or would it be smarter if I came in something like [trekking boots](https://www.mensjournal.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/HikingBootsMain1.jpg?quality=78&strip=all)? Thanks.

  1. I go out with trekking boots, mid or high top, when it rains. Some roads might slightly flood so crossing can be a bitch. Some other roads flood completely so yeah.

Trekking boots also keep me warm and keep the humidity out. Investing in good hiking shoes for everyday use has been my best choice yet. Make sure they’re waterproof, preferably Gore-Tex.

This is just my opinion though. Some people don’t mind having wet feet all day.

  2. I pretty much exclusively wear sneakers and have minimal issues… If you’re gonna be going to Mdina I’d reccomend a snorkel and some goggles… Maybe a wetsuit…

  3. On footwear, wear something grippy.

The pavements here are designed to be hot and dry. When it rains some places can be like stepping out onto an ice rink. Watch out for tiled areas outside fast food joints!

A couple of years ago, my sister broke her ankle walking across the airport car park, an hour after landing and just after it rained.
