Czech president-elect says west must accept China is ‘not friendly’

  1. Because confrontation with China is exactly what Europe needs at this precise moment. A China-Russia alliance will definitely help the current situation and make the sanctions more effective, right?

USA is preparing for a war with China around 2025-2026. Do we need to start early?

Sticking it to the man definitely feels good, but is it wise right now?

  2. Literally has become my favorite politician over night. Seems centrist. Doesn’t lean left or right too much and wants best interests for not just his country but EU

  3. Is this a surprise for anyone?

Given their genocide of the Uyghurs, their aggression against Taiwan, their persecution of the Tibetans, and their tacit support of Putin’s war on Ukraine, how does anyone argue that China *is* friendly?

  4. Already think he is a good leader. Looks like the best heads of state are the ones who had no previous political careers.

Raegan, Zelenskyy and now Pavel are good examples.

  5. I don’t understand how China is not friendly to Europe. It makes no sense, what has China done to Europe other than being on the odds with US? From what little I’ve seen of Pavel he seems to be completely a stooge of the US.

  6. China is an economic opponet to the EU, but not more than the US themselves. This has to be said, and it’s right to consider China as a competitor for global influence. On the other end, in my opinion depicting China as the new “evil country” and as a military enemy is pure propaganda to keep European people afraid and convince them that they need to be under the protection of the United States.

Edit: I hate how everyone is worried about Taiwan, but you all don’t give a fuck about the (at least) eleven South American and Middle Eastern countries in which the US (in the last 60 years) backed coups, installed brutal dictatorships, or literally invaded militarily. But Iraq and Grenada don’t deserve the same respect as Taiwan, right?

  7. If he ever gets bored of Czech Republic, poles are already used to being ruled by foreigners historically and are in dire need of someone else than our entire political scene.

  8. Top class comments. Europe trying to do business in good faith based on European principles. China ready to pounce and planning 40 years in advance. Europe need to wake up. I would like to believe the war, BRICS momentum with talk of its own currency, and how some countries didn’t condemn the war did the trick. This guy based in reality.

  9. if we cared about peace and avoiding an invasion of Taiwan politicians would not be saying shit like this. they would shut up and quietly support Taiwan so that an invasion would eventually be too costly.

this kind of rethoric pushes China closer and closer to “having” to invade
