Hello.
I got today letter from FROMMER LEGAL, saying that i violated the law(copyright) by downloading thr music and i need to pay per song 300€. Is this thing real or is it just some lawyer company trying to get my money? If so, is there any way i don’t pay or dont go to court?

EDIT: Here are the pictures of the letter https://imgur.com/gallery/9iHBM3I

Both. It is some lawyer trying to get your money but it‘s real. You‘ll need a lawyer.

  2. Isn’t this type of letter i need to sign that i got it? Cause i can play dumb and say i never got it or?

  3. If it’s Waldorf & Frommer, i had the same thing happen to me. I was stupid enough to download something via utorrent (where you automatically upload it for others).

My first move was to write an “Unterlassungserklärung” (not the one they send you, a modified one). Then I waited it out, but after a few years they wrote me again and in the end I had to pay (even though I got a lawyer by then).

  4. I don’t know if this is the case in Germany, but where I’m from you are not punished for the same crime twice, let alone 15 !!
Ask a lawyer maybe they’ll get it down to 200€ worst case.

  5. Downloading is indeed Illegal unless you have some paid service provider (example steam for Games), or something is open for download legally, but most of the cases I heard are about torrent , music is first time to hear about.

  6. You did not get caught for mp3converter. Did you used any other torrent Software? What are the Songs and artist that they claim you seeded? Is there a first letter?
