I’m weird and I also stack my shells, so yes, your probably weird.
I also do this and my girlfriend comments on me doing this. It saves quite a bit of space than just randomly throwing them in.

I don’t like mussels, but if I did, I would stack them like that as well.
I’m worse. I stack them so they go full circle.
My wife hates me when I do that in a restaurant.
But my kids are starting to do the same.

I do this. My partner tosses his mindlessly. He associates this to his messy Belgiannness and my orderly stacks to me being Swiss. Now that I see your post, I guess nationality has nothing to do there. There are just two categories: stackers. And tossers.
Everybody does this to fit them back into the original packaging
