Hallo Norway! We posted some ideations on our planned roadtrip around your beautiful land. We received a lot of exceptional feedback and have since revised our plans significantly and come up with the below rough plan along with some specific questions.
We want to focus our adventures almost exclusively on hiking, ideally towards more challenging routes that are not as well known as those which Google recommends. We are using ut.no to search hikes but wow, does this ever feel a little overwhelming for a tourist! We want to include at least a couple of overnight hikes as we will be travelling with our camping gear, so if you have any suggestions, we would be forever thankful. Okay, onto our rough V2 plans.
– We land in Bergen and are planning to head straight to Trolltunga. We had originally wanted to kyragbolten but feel it is too far south given our limited time. **QUESTION**: Is Trolltunga worth the small detour or should be just head straight to Flam from Bergen?
– From Trolltunga we will head north to Flåm or Vikøyri. If we head to Flåm we will then go towards Lærdalsøyri and ferry over to Sogndalsfjøra. If Vikøyri, then we will cross to Hella and also end up at Sogndalsfjøra. **QUESTION**: Do you have any advice on these options?
– From Sogndalsfjøra we plan to hike up Glittertind. After we do this hike, we plan to head back towards Sogndalsfjøra and up to Geiranger via Lote and Stryn. We will take the 258 mountain road. **QUESTION**: Is it worth doubling back after Glittertind, or should we go to Fossbergom and then head to Geiranger from there via 15? My concern here is that if we don’t double back we will miss Lote and Stryn and the 258 mountain road, plus hiking on that route.
– We will ferry to Sylte from Geiranger and head up to Åndalsnes. We plan to do some hiking up in this area also. From Åndalsnes we will work our way to Ålesund and Runde.
– From Runde, we will either work our way down to Lote and take the E39 back to Bergen via Forde OR we will head from Runde down 61 and ferry near Stårheim, then take the 614 to the 5 and get to Forde that way. **QUESTION**: Do you have any suggestions on these options coming down from Runde back to Bergen? My only thought here is that if we from from Sogndalsfjøra up to Geiranger via Lote and Stryn, we would have already covered this ground.
I know this is A LOT and we very very much appreciate your continued feedback and ideas, it’s beyond helpful in planning this adventure. A specific **question** we have is for suggestions on hiking areas to focus on along that route. Are there any specific areas we MUST see and/or spend time in? Are we missing any incredible areas with this route? Are there any things we should consider skipping or adjusting on this route?
Thank you! We will share updates and photos once we complete our trip.

Im no expert so i cant comment on your route. but since your going to hike a lot, i suggest to download the app “Norgeskart”. Its a very comprehensive hiking map for the whole (?) country.
When are you doing this?
