Hello dear friends! I want to make a gift for my mom, she’s been mentioning this Latvian perfume – Solo (By Dzintars) a lot lately, she says it was her favorite thing growing up in the Soviet Union and would do anything to smell it again. I really want to make her happy and buy it for her, so I looked it up online and found out that it’s not produced anymore and new “Solo” perfume is completely unrelated. I will be in Latvia later in February and would greatly appreciate if you can tell me where can I buy it/where should I look for it, or give me links where can I buy it with worldwide delivery. Any help is greatly appreciated, paldies!

If you chill near the trains station for long enough, someone will offer you perfume that looks very similar and with a neat discount
Yeah in Dzintars web page they only list 2 perfumes.
A short while ago Dzintars was driven nearly to bankrupcy. Maybe they have new owners, but they’ve updated the image, have more attractively packaged products now (quality has always been good). And it seems most of perfumes got cut, because there was no demand.
So your only bet is probably some second-hand items shop. If you’re in Riga, there was one near Ģertrūdes/Barona — as you go towards the church, left side after you cross Barona Street . Some stuff antiquities, some just oldish late Soviet. That shop migrates occasionally, previously was on Tērbatas Street, but also near Ģertrūdes Street. They are not super likely to have it, but might have some hints.
Russia sells those still, but good luck ordering online, lol.
Although, from a personal experience – you can order stuff from russia to Norway, if you find a way to transfer them money. To Latvia – no idea.

Don’t really know your budget for this bottle, but since good perfume costs good money, you will need to sacrifice a bit.

Feel ya. I am looking for a Dzintars fragrance as well ( I LOVE ECSTASY Dzintars). But basically, they stopped producing fragrances, because the brand has experienced a massive makeover. Good luck on finding your gem!
