  1. Link doesn’t open for me. So should people he bringing their own helmets if wanting to us these bikes or should they be provided?

  2. I don’t get the weird thing within the cycling community where they are convinced that helmets don’t offer protection. There is this huge resistance to them.

You google “Do cycle helmets reduce head injuries” and you get a million results saying they do and by how much of a percentage.

But… There’s always those 20 year old studies from Sweden or whatever that found cycle helmets didn’t save enough people and cars drove closer to them so obviously they’re clearly useless.

It’s a helmet… It’s literally designed to absorb & redirect impact from your head. It absolutely offers a significant amount of protection.

It’s mad that wearing them on a bike isn’t mandatory.

  3. It’s a cult alright. Yes if you hit your head a helmet would be beneficial. But anywhere that has made it mandatory has seen cycling use drop (perceived as dangerous activity, bother of bringing helmet) and so the gen pop doesn’t get the health benefits of more cycling.

It’s always people who don’t cycle much who seem to care about it the most.

Edit: what’s the biggest danger to cyclists on the road? Vehicular traffic. What doesn’t protect you from collisions with vehicular traffic? Helmets.
