According to member of parliament Theo Francken (N-VA), investments must be made again in Defense. He says so in “The appointment on Friday”. “The Belgian defense must be made resilient again.” There are also voices within the federal government that advocate a new investment in Defense. “We have to invest in defense again with the next government.”

    Best to raise it gradually to avoid spending it on random stuff without much strategy.

  2. Investments in the army should only happen in conjunction with our partners in the EU and NATO. We can’t have everything, so we should agree what part we do invest in.

My favorite part is when he kept talking about how cost saving on the army during peace times (“as if we won the war”) is completely incomprehensible to him and 5 min later he beats his chest about how he closed down immigrant housing once they weren’t filled to the brim anymore (as if we’ll never get migrants ever again?). Weird how he understands this simple concept when it made him look good/better.

  5. It’s Theo Francken, he’s a heavily bullied, insecure loser that idolises military power to feel like a man. All he wants is to pose next to some new hardware we bought for defence like the new Krembo. Just ignore him, none of his arguments have ever held up to scrutiny, so don’t waste time on his newest idiocy.

  9. Investing more in “defense” normally is an euphemism of investing in military, normally to support wars that will generate more refugees.

    Some then can complain that there are too many refugees?
