Percentage of bathing Waters with Excellent Quality in the European Union, by country

  1. Poland, wtf?!?!

I’ll stipulate that according to PiS it’s because of (*checks notes*) Germany with their 90.4% excellent quality bathing waters.

  2. I wonder how they differentiate what cleanliness of bathing water means.

I know it might seem like a dumb question but I know that some countries use normal water and some use spring waters… Which are often rich in stuff and smell like egg, some like iron ext. A lot of them are also murky due to it.

So I am pretty much wondering of the difference in water type is mitigated by the testing.

  3. Poles and Hungarians literally swimming in their own filth.

Seriouselly though i do wonder how this is measured. All of them are propably easily good enough for bathing regardless, you dont need to bathe in drinking water.

  4. FYI, because it’s like 2137th time this map is posted, like 50%+ of Poland’s waters are untested for this metric hence the score. I’d imagine the same is true for Slovakia.

  5. Its also dependend on what you call bathing water. Two minutes of searching I could find dozens of german beaches which are not listed as bathing water. Like half of the lakes south of leipzig.

So it is an indicator, but not the whole story

  6. This is a total bullshit. France has aone of the worst water i’ve ever had and i’ve been to serbia. Also calling cyprus %93.3 is just weird since they are importing water and its the worst tap water you could find anywhere.
