    > “And many others avoided me and shunned me simply by learning about my origins,” she continued. “The girls from Ukraine and Switzerland simply ran from me like fire!”
    >
    > She went on to say that it was a “pity” Miss Ukraine Viktoria Apanasenko didn’t want to speak to her because she was Russian.
    >
    > “I tried to make contact, but all efforts were in vain. Everyone saw Viktoria’s demonstrative behavior — this is her choice, and I do not hold a grudge,” she said.

    > But Apanasenko previously spoke to the Daily Beast about struggling to compete alongside Linnikova, telling the outlet that Linnikova only approached her for a selfie.

    > “Until the very last moment I hoped that Miss Russia would come up to me and say sorry, but she only came up to me to get a selfie for what I think were propaganda purposes,” Apanesenko told the Daily Beast. “Miss Russia did not say a word about the war. People told me it would be dangerous for her.”

    > Apanasenko also told the Daily Beast she thinks the Miss Universe organization underestimated the toll it would take on her to compete alongside Linnikova.
    >
    > “I am more than grateful to Miss Universe for their support, but I am not sure the organizers understood what it felt like for me to be standing and smiling on the same stage with Miss Russia who was wearing a red dress, the color of blood,” Apanasenko said to the Daily Beast, speaking of **Linnikova’s “Crown of the Russian Empire” costume.**

  2. They are biased against you because of the… Well, because of all the war crimes, dear. It’s probably all the war crimes.

  3. Miss Ukraine and Russia were both eliminated in early rounds of the competition so that’s just simply not true

  4. Damn, I would really empathize with her, and even offer my condolences if it weren’t for me sitting in complete darkness without electricity right now. Feel so sorry for her, it must be tough

  5. Question: why is miss Russia even allowed to participate? I don’t recall but when nazis invaded, I don’t think they were allowed to just continue appearances and complain about being shunned.

    Ridiculous

  6. WELL if it isn’t the consequences of… your country’s actions. Ya know, genocide and torture doesn’t fare very well with some people.

  7. Let me put it that way: at the moment no one wants to have anything to do with Russia and Russians unless they fled before the invasion. Even with a 100m stick

  8. You’re there to represent your country that is currently trying to invade another country and is bombing civilians. Yeah I bet they were a little cold towards you!

  9. What did she expect anyway. You’re the baddies right now, Honey! Imagine Miss Third Reich competing in 1941 and complaining like that.

  10. Well I mean idk whether any country which is invading another country would be represented at all. But hey, at least you’re pretty.

  11. And she is probably right. Which is a pity to see people behaving this way in activities that are meant to bring people together and create small bridges among them.

    Bridges. Not walls.

After WW2 it was the communists who raised walls. Now it is the West. And it is the opposite of what is needed to resolve this horrible situation.

  12. If you look carefully when Miss USA was crowned, Miss Russia was jumping up and down and applauding enthusiastically…

  13. Ok and “I want world peace” where did it go?
You pissed us off for 20 years by repeating this phrase after you won…
Apparently class and dignity are no longer in fashion dear “miss”.
